Half Crown Petanque Club

We played Round 3 of the 2012 Euro Cup for Clubs campaign on Sunday 15th January against The Malt Shovel (Barkby, Leicester). Despite putting out a very strong side we were beaten 2-3 after a gripping final game which went to the wire, with Jerome Rousseau and Philippe Bonnet leading 12-11 before the Malt Shovel pair sealed the match with 2 points on the final end.

There was a great turn out of around 16 Half Crown supporters who watched eagerly as the first round triples were shared, with Jerome Rousseau, Claire White and Rachid Hannache winning 13-2 and Rich Powell, Herve Bavazzano and Sofiane Lachani losing 7-13.
The first two pairs games were also shared with Herve and Sofiane winning 13-7 and Rachid and Claire losing 3-13, at which point the third pairs game was still ongoing, neck and neck, with the honours finally going to The Malt Shovel 12-13.
