Local organisations such as Daventry Social Services, Rugby Rotary Club, and the Southam ‘41’ Club have enjoyed evenings at The Crown Inn, Stockton where they combine a ‘come and try’ session of Pétanque with an excellent meal in the Restaurant or Barn.
We can accommodate parties of up to 30 people, and the evenings typically start off with a friendly game of Pétanque organised for you by The Half Crown Pétanque Club, who also provide the equipment (boules) and tuition in the sport and will organise a competition for you. This is then followed by a barbecue or buffet meal, provided by The Crown Inn.
Typical menus include a barbecue comprising steak, gammon, sausage, lamb chop, chips, and salad for £10 per head, plus £3 per head for everyone participating in the Pétanque.
Alternatively, you can order a hot buffet, comprising any two choices of: Cottage pie; Chilli; Curry; Braising steak; Chicken pie, plus chips and rice for £7.50 per head, plus £3 per head for everyone participating in the Pétanque.
You can also plan your own menu or Restaurant meal to suit your party through consultation with Patrick or Susan at The Crown Inn, adding £3 per head to the food costs to cover the participation in the Pétanque activities.
