Half Crown Petanque Club

Just three visitors arrived from Russelsheim in Germany for our Twinning weekend on 20th August, but everyone enjoyed it and our German guests had a great time.

10 club members joined our guests for a great meal in Kenilworth on Friday evening. On Saturday morning eight of us joined Bill Bentley and Mary Sturgess aboard their narrow boat for a two hour canal cruise punctuated with wine, beer and a great buffet. We then returned to the Crown Inn for our Saturday Club and the International Triples contest which was won by the Germans.

Our Open Triples on Sunday was organised as a Round Robin and was won by Dave Hancox, Caroline Powell and one of our German guests, Gaby Kurtz.

We have been invited to Russelsheim next year and intend to muster more than three travellers.
